Each marine operation begins with a detailed risk analysis and hydrodynamic calculations. Our engineers pre-determine the number of lift bags, lifting capacity, attachment points, and control systems. During underwater operations, the bags are secured to the sunken object using specialized equipment and gradually inflated to initiate controlled lifting. The system’s balance, direction, and ascent angle are continuously monitored. If needed, the operation is supported with workboats and underwater cameras. Operations near shipyards, docks, or limited-space areas require high precision and expertise.
Makstelar’s marine operations are not limited to salvage. Lift bags are also used to support the placement of underwater pipelines and fiber optic cables. We also play an active role in projects such as racecourse creation, buoy anchoring, and the deployment of temporary marine barriers. Oil containment booms and temporary isolation systems placed on or beneath the water surface are also used to ensure environmental safety.
Makstelar’s field teams operate in full compliance with international maritime safety regulations (IMO, SOLAS), implementing all necessary safety measures during operations. Detailed technical reports are prepared after each operation, and video documentation can be provided if required. Having completed numerous recovery projects in Turkey, the Mediterranean, and the Black Sea, Makstelar stands out as a leader in marine operations thanks to its advanced equipment and experienced personnel.
