Salvage Air BagsMakstelar Group

Salvage Air Bags are specialized inflatable lifting devices designed to recover sunken vessels, submerged vehicles, and heavy underwater structures by providing controlled buoyancy. Used in both civilian and military marine operations, these air bags are deployed by divers or surface crews to lift objects from the seabed to the surface or to reposition them underwater. Makstelar Group manufactures both parachute-type (open-bottom) and enclosed-type (fully sealed) air bags to accommodate different salvage needs, such as wreck removal, underwater pipeline installation, and marine construction support. Their compact, foldable structure makes them easy to transport and deploy, while their high lift capacity ensures reliable performance in emergency and industrial applications. Salvage air bags are a crucial tool for salvage companies, port authorities, offshore contractors, and naval rescue teams.

Capacity and Technical Specifications of Fence Type PVC Boom Systems

Makstelar’s Salvage Air Bags are constructed from high-strength, PVC-coated polyester fabric that is resistant to UV exposure, saltwater corrosion, and mechanical wear. The seams are joined using high-frequency (HF) welding technology to ensure airtight integrity under pressure. Each air bag includes reinforced D-rings or stainless steel lifting eyes, quick-inflation valves, and overpressure relief valves to ensure safety during operation. Available in a range of capacities from 500 kg up to 50 tons, these air bags are offered in multiple sizes and shapes to suit various underwater lifting scenarios. They can be inflated using surface-supplied air systems or diver-operated cylinders, and their modular design allows multiple units to be used simultaneously for lifting large or irregularly shaped objects. Optional accessories such as inflation hoses, pressure monitoring gauges, and storage bags are also available to support efficient and safe deployment.

Parachute-Type Balloon

Parachute Type Salvage Lift Bag

Parachute-type salvage lift bags are designed in an inverted teardrop shape with an open bottom and are used to lift sunken materials to the water surface. Additionally, parachute-type bags are also used in operations aimed at draft reduction.

Pipe & Cable Laying Buoyancy Bags

These lift bags are used in pipe and cable laying operations to provide buoyancy for the lines and to control submersion by reducing the air volume inside when needed, allowing for precise placement at the desired depth.
